Mr. Gregory E. Hinkson holds the position of Director at PMI, with a specific focus in policy.
Mr. Hinkson specializes in Investment and Financial Advisory Services, Risk Management, Pension Investment Analysis, Business Analysis and Needs Assessment to SMEs, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO), Non-Profits, Trustees, Social Security Institutions and Governments.His experience in the field includes assisting corporate clients in preparing their Statement of Investment Policy, drafting and amending Pension Plan Trust Deeds, recommending and implementing Pension Plan Governance Structures, analyzing investment portfolios, reviewing investment options, preparing pension plan governance manuals and operating policies, conducting risk assessments, and providing training to Pension Plan Trustees on their duties and responsibilities under the law.
Mr. Hinkson was Vice President, Investments with Sagicor Life Inc. where he was responsible for the management of the investment portfolios for the life insurance companies and the segregated pension funds encompassing the territories of Barbados, the Eastern Caribbean, Netherlands Antilles and Belize.
Mr. Hinkson previously served as Manager, Investments with the National Insurance Department in Barbados. He was responsible for the investment management of the four independent funds, which are vested in the National Insurance Board.
Mr. Hinkson is a graduate of the University of the West Indies, a Fellow of the Certified General Accountants' (CGA) Association of Canada and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados. He is a Member of the Barbados CFA Inc., the CFA Institute and the Caribbean Institute of Certified Management Consultants (CICMC).
Involved in the Financial Services Industry for over 20 years, he has published and presented articles on Financial Services, locally, regionally and internationally. He is currently a member of the Barbados Fair Trading Commission and has served as a member of the Barbados' Advisory Committee on International Business and Electronic Commerce, where he provided input to Government on the strategic development of the International Business and Financial Services Industry and development of International Financial Services and E-commerce Legislation. Mr. Hinkson is also a former President of the Certified General Accountants' Association of Barbados.
